Donate:
The Haight Ashbury Food Program
relies on generous donations from
our neighbors and supporters. Every
donation goes directly to the
operation of our program, feeding
people in need and providing job
training and placement for those
who are homeless and unemployed.
Every donation makes a difference,
no matter how big or how small.
We also accept in-kind donations
of food, office supplies and
classroom materials. To donate,
send checks to :

Volunteers:
The Haight Ashbury Food Program
sends a very special thank you to
all of our volunteers, without whom
we simply could not exist.
- The many individuals and
groups
who come in daily and weekly
to
assist us with the preparation and serving of our
daily meal
- Our all volunteer Safety Team
who ensures that our meals
are served in a safe
environment
and assist us
with maintaining
a neighborly
presence
- The individuals and groups
who
assist us with special
projects
such as the designing
of this
web site and of our
brochure
- The volunteers who assist us
with the preparation and
serving
of our holiday feasts
- Our long-term volunteers who
have been a daily part of the food program for
years on end
– including Frank Sexton, who
has been with us virtually every
day since the inception of the
program in 1983!
The love and dedication of these
volunteers is what makes our meals
so delicious and comforting.
Thank you to all – and as our
Volunteer Coordinator,
Judy Woods,
always says
WE LOVE VOLUNTEERS!!!

Volunteers in Action:
Volunteer Opportunities:
The Haight Ashbury Food Program
needs volunteers every weekday to
assist us with preparing and serving
our lunchtime meals. Volunteers
can come for the whole day, from
8:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. assisting us
with food preparation, set-up and
serving, or they can come for a
shorter shift of 8:00 am - 11:00 am
(preparation and
set-up) or
11:00 am- 2:30 pm (set-up and
serving).
Holiday Volunteers:
Approximately 200 people help the
Haight Ashbury Food Program out
with our annual Thanksgiving and
Winter Holiday feasts held on
Thanksgiving and Christmas days.
We have volunteer shifts from 8:00
am until 4:00 pm. These shifts fill up
quickly and we encourage all who
plan to attend to call our Volunteer
Coordinator, Judy Woods, at 415.566.0366 to sign up at
least 2 weeks
in advance.

the Haight Ashbury Food Program
