Food Service Project Statistics:

The Haight Ashbury Food Program (HAFP) Community Kitchen served 61,195 hot nutritious lunchtime meal to anywhere from 169 to 654 people four days per week during FY 2004, serving an average of 281 people per day.

The number of Seniors coming to us for meals continues increase. We served an average of 672 meals per month to Seniors representing about 15% of our meal service.

The number of Families with Children has also continued to increase. We served an average of 417 meals per month to parents and children, representing about 10% of our meal service.

Two-thirds of HAFP's guests are homeless, they live outside, on the street or in local parks (38%), in shelters (19%) or in vehicles (10%). The remaining third have housing, yet they often rely on HAFP's lunchtime meals to help make ends meet and pay their rent.
